So, you’ve decided that working with an agency is the best step for your business. Congratulations! You are making an excellent choice that’s sure to bring new customers to your door. But before your new partner agency can help you, they’re going to need access to your Facebook Business Manager Account. In this guide, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about granting access to your agency, including:
- Why they need access
- How to create a Facebook Manager Account
- How to Grant Access to Your Account
Why Does my Agency Need Access to Facebook Business Manager?
The answer to this one is pretty simple. You’ve likely hired an agency to take the burden of managing your Facebook ads and pages off your shoulders. If you don’t give your agency direct access to your account, they’ll have to go through you for every item on their to-do list, effectively making you a manager for your own pages. The back-and-forth is draining for both parties, so much so that some agencies will decline to work with you unless you grant them access!
Granting access to your Facebook Business Manager Account doesn’t mean you aren’t in charge, or that the agency will do whatever they please without permission. It merely stops you from becoming a digital marketing middle man.
How to Create a Facebook Business Manager Account
Facebook Business Manager is the one-stop-shop for all your Facebook management needs, from running ad campaigns to managing pixels and multiple Facebook pages. If you don’t have a Facebook Business Manager Account, that’s okay; it’s easy to set one up. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Go to business.facebook.com.
- Click the button that says “Create Account”
- Fill out all the required information. Make sure to double-check the name of your business and choose the appropriate page as your “primary page.”
And that’s it! Like we said, super easy.
How to Grant Access to Your Facebook Business Manager Account
Now that you have a Facebook Business Manager Account, it’s time to give access to your agency, so you can begin rocking the social media world. To grant your agency access, simply follow the steps below:
- Open your Dashboard at business.facebook.com
- Click the “Business Manager” menu option in the gray navigation bar
- In the first column, select “business Settings”
If adding an agency as a Partner:
- Under “Users,” select “partners”
- Add your agency’s Partner ID and follow the prompts
We recommend adding at least one user from the agency, even when granting partner access. When adding an individual user, follow the first three steps above and then:
- Under “Users,” select “People”
- Click on the “Add” button
- Enter the person’s email
- Turn on the “Admin” access option (again, this cuts out the middle man)
- Select the Assets (pages, ad accounts, etc) that you want the agency to access, and what they have permission to do with those assets. We recommend giving permission across the board on any assets you’d like to include.
- Hit the “invite Button.”
You did it! Throw yourself a happy party because you don’t need to worry about handling the details of your Facebook accounts anymore, now that you’ve granted access to your agency partner.
